The Frenckell office renovation in Tampere is under way.
The project will bring major changes to the building’s interiors. While the facade of the historic building will be preserved as it is, all interior spaces will be fully renovated to meet today’s needs and requirements.
“When we began planning the project, we hoped to preserve and highlight significant historical elements of the building. Unfortunately, the many alterations made over the years have removed almost everything original from the property, and the old details we hoped to find were not there. Many surfaces revealed structures only 10–20 years old,” comments Marko Kuusisto, CEO of Aare Invest Oy.
Although most of the structures will be replaced, the roof beams on the top floor will be preserved. In addition, the old main beam supporting the second floor will be left exposed as part of the interior. These unique elements reflect the building’s original architecture and carry its history into the new whole.
The project is progressing as planned, with the goal of creating modern, functional spaces where Frenckell’s history lives on through small details.
