Aare Invest has acquired the Frenckell property, built in 1785, from the City of Tampere. The property is located in the heart of Tampere city centre, on the banks of the Tammerkoski rapids, on plot number 1. The building has a gross area of 19,200 m².
In 2019, the City of Tampere held a concept competition for the sale of the Frenckell property. Aare Invest Oy took part in the concept competition for the Frenckell property, and in May 2022 the city made its final decision on the sale. The sale was conditional on a new zoning plan, which became legally binding in March 2023. The new zoning plan also increases the building rights for the Frenckell property.
The City of Tampere will lease the property until summer 2026, after which Aare Invest will begin renovation work. Tampere Theatre (Tampereen Teatteri) will remain a tenant in the property until the end of 2046.
